Aucklanders have their probability to offer suggestions about skatepark use by way of a Have Your Say session that runs till June 1, says the Auckland Council.
Suggestions from the session will probably be used to develop a regional skatepark plan for Tāmaki Makaurau.
Deputy Mayor Desley Simpson urges Aucklanders to participate within the public session.
“Skateparks are valued throughout Tāmaki Makaurau, particularly by our tamariki and rangatahi.
“To maintain these areas secure, effectively‑designed and future‑prepared, we have to hear from the individuals who use them.
“Your suggestions will immediately form how skateparks are deliberate for and improved throughout Auckland, so I encourage everybody to have their say,” Simpson says.
The mission focuses on skateparks and skate areas in parks and neighborhood amenities, together with the design, location, supporting amenities, smaller skate parts in parks, akin to ramps and rails, the council says.
It doesn’t embody skating or driving exterior council-managed parks areas.
Taryn Crewe, the council’s parks and neighborhood amenities normal supervisor, says suggestions from Aucklanders will assist improve the skatepark expertise.
“We welcome submissions from Aucklanders about how they use skateparks.
“It will assist the council to know how skateparks are used throughout the area, establish priorities for funding and inform future planning, design and upgrades.
“We can even work with neighborhood advocates and trade professionals on reviewing suggestions and offering design recommendation,” Crewe says.
