PARIS — French authorities will examine the proliferation of sexually specific deepfakes generated by synthetic intelligence platform Grok on X, the Paris prosecutor’s workplace instructed POLITICO.
French lawmakers Arthur Delaporte and Eric Bothorel contacted the prosecutor’s workplace on Jan. 2 after hundreds of non-consensual sexually specific deepfakes have been generated by Grok and revealed on X.
“These details have been added to the prevailing investigation into X,” the prosecutor’s workplace said, noting that this offense is punishable by two years’ imprisonment and a €60,000 fantastic.
