Europe faces a recent border disaster after round 60,000 migrants from Morocco crossed into the Spanish exclave of Ceuta in simply 24 hours.

Ms Meloni stated that the “hanging” photos confirmed that “uncontrolled unlawful immigration poses a concrete menace to the safety of Europe’s borders”.

France’s far-right politician Marine Le Pen accused the Spanish authorities of “encouraging” the disaster.
