WASHINGTON – Radio Free Asia (RFA) President and CEO Bay Fang issued the next assertion in response to the information that RFA contributor and award-winning journalist Shin Daewe, who has been jailed in Myanmar since October 2023 and not too long ago sentenced to fifteen years in jail, was launched from jail below an amnesty:
“The information of Shin Daewe’s launch from detention comes as a welcome reduction. Shin Daewe suffered enormously and unfairly for her work to convey uncensored journalism to folks in Myanmar. This growth is a testomony to efforts by many, together with RSF and PEN America, to safe her launch. I’m heartened to be taught Shin is again at her house, reunited along with her household and family members.”
