A significant navy train is going down within the Gore district this month.
As much as 500 personnel from the New Zealand Military common and reserve forces and Australian Military reserve members shall be descending on the Hokonui Hills and Waikaia areas, from July 17-28.
Train Tauwharenīkau, an annual Reserve Drive collective coaching exercise, will contain troop, car and plane actions over the 10-day interval.
Troopers shall be carrying weapons, a New Zealand Defence Drive (NZDF) advisory mentioned.
Clean rounds and pyrotechnics can be used all through the train and particularly within the hills above Waikaia on July 25, between 5am and midday, the advisory mentioned.
