Midwinter carnival preparations ramp up

Preparations are ramping up for the Dunedin Midwinter Carnival, with only a month to go earlier than the favored neighborhood occasion takes over First Church and its grounds.

Set to be held over a number of classes on June 12 and 13, the Dunedin Midwinter Carnival will characteristic lantern installations and occasions on the theme of “A Rustle within the Evening”.

Meridian Mall centre supervisor Stacey Johnston stated the mall was proud to proceed its “long-standing partnership with the Dunedin Midwinter Carnival”.

Lantern-making workshops for youngsters and households shall be held on Could 23-24, making a cocoon; Could 30-31, making a snail; and June 6-7, making a kiwi. All workshops will run from 10am to 2pm.

The workshops shall be led by co-ordinators Abby Smith and Natalie Cheetham, and a workforce of volunteers.
