BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 19. Azerbaijan’s First
Deputy Minister of Finance Anar Karimov met with a delegation led
by Xiaohong Yan, Director Normal for the Public Sector on the
Asian Infrastructure Funding Financial institution (AIIB), to debate ongoing
initiatives and prospects for increasing cooperation in infrastructure,
transport, and vitality.

In line with the Ministry of Finance’s press service, the
assembly reviewed AIIB-backed initiatives in Azerbaijan and explored
alternatives for deeper collaboration in key improvement
sectors.

Karimov highlighted the significance of the partnership with AIIB
in supporting Azerbaijan’s sustainable financial improvement
priorities. He famous that the financial institution has already offered financing
for initiatives in vitality, transport, and renewable vitality.

He additionally pointed to the Multi-Yr Funding Portfolio developed
underneath the strategic cooperation framework between Azerbaijan and
AIIB, saying it could allow extra systematic and long-term planning
of infrastructure investments according to the nation’s
“Azerbaijan 2030: Nationwide Priorities for Socio-Financial
Growth.”

Yan expressed satisfaction with the present stage of cooperation
and praised the outcomes of AIIB-funded initiatives in Azerbaijan. She
stated the financial institution is excited by additional increasing engagement in
sustainable transport infrastructure, railway modernization, city
mobility, port and logistics improvement, renewable vitality, and
inexperienced finance.

The 2 sides additionally exchanged views on the following phases of the
Baku Metro growth mission, ongoing work on the Baku
Worldwide Sea Commerce Port, and potential areas for future
cooperation.
