The on Tancred St corridor has been utilized by many teams over time, and has been owned and managed by the Ashburton Centennial Sports activities Corridor Society since 1954.
However the society is now being wound up and the corridor has been gifted to the Ashburton District Council.
Council chief government Hamish Riach mentioned members of the society met with the council and so they requested it take over possession of the corridor.
“The society has finished nice work for our group over a few years in conserving the sports activities corridor working, however adjustments to the regulation round integrated societies have led them to supply the ability to council.
“After the property is transferred to council on 31 March, workers will put together an choices evaluation for Councillors’ consideration, and it will embrace the potential for promoting, a possible end result identified and understood by the society.
“We’re acutely aware there are present bookings and they are going to be factored in.”
