The penalty was awarded following a VAR verify by Congolese referee Jean-Jacques Ndala after Brahim Diaz had been tugged to the bottom by Senegal full again El Hadji Malick Diouf whereas defending a nook 5 minutes into stoppage time.

However Senegal reacted angrily to the choice and walked off, some gamers taking place the tunnel and into their altering room. It took 14 minutes earlier than they returned and goalkeeper Edouard Mendy saved Diaz’s poorly taken Panenka-style chipped spot kick.
