“New landslide zones have gotten more and more energetic on account of heavy rains. We’ll start protecting work in these areas as soon as the rainfall subsides. At present, the street close to Yamunotri and Jangalchatti is closed, whereas work is ongoing in Harsil on the Gangotri route,” District Justice of the Peace Prashant Arya informed TOI.

Following the newest landslides on Friday, authorities have requested that pilgrims embark on their journeys solely after checking street circumstances and retaining updated with advisories issued by the police and administration.

The Meteorological Division has issued a purple alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Bageshwar, Chamoli, Dehradun, and Rudraprayag districts over the subsequent 24 hours.
