Two individuals had been severely injured after falling from a Ferris wheel on the Rolling Meadows music competition in Christchurch final night time, the New Zealand Herald is reporting.
The Herald reported Hato Hone St John as saying two males had been taken to Christchurch Hospital in a severe situation, after falling at about 2.10am on one of many last rides of the night time.
It had been reported the incident concerned three males who had been swinging the bucket they had been in, and had been advised to cease instantly.
Because the operator started stopping the trip to unload occupants, the bucket the boys had made swing tipped, and so they fell out, Occasion Rent director Phil Anderson was quoted as saying.
It was reported WorkSafe had been notified of the incident and a full technical overview of the tools can be carried out by an unbiased engineer.
