BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 12. The European
Financial institution for Reconstruction and Growth (EBRD) is offering 50
million euros to Özgörkey Otomotiv Turizm Gida, Türkiye’s frozen
meals producers, to finance a brand new manufacturing line for potato
merchandise and snacks, Development stories.
The funding will introduce trendy, energy-efficient
expertise, decreasing water and electrical energy consumption and
minimizing waste. The undertaking can even create 90 new jobs,
addressing abilities gaps within the frozen meals sector, and implement a
digital platform for farmers and suppliers to enhance farming
practices and digital experience.
“By embedding sustainable practices and optimising useful resource use,
Özgörkey is strengthening competitiveness whereas decreasing
environmental affect,” stated EBRD Deputy Head of Türkiye Mehmet
Erdem Yasar.
Özgörkey Group’s CEO Erkan Tabak added, “This modern mannequin
helps meals resilience and helps curb meals inflation throughout
Türkiye’s frozen meals sector.”
Özgörkey produces French fries, greens, fruits, coated
merchandise, and desserts. The corporate goals to reinforce meals safety
by increasing long-term frozen meals storage and selling contract
farming, stabilizing costs and provide chains.
Since 2009, the EBRD has invested over 22 billion euros in
Türkiye, primarily in non-public sector initiatives.
