Italian teenager Kimi Antonelli has stormed to a second straight pole place in qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix forward of teammate George Russell to lock out the entrance row for Mercedes for a 3rd consecutive race.
The 19-year-old set a time of 1 minute, 28.778 seconds across the 5.8km Suzuka circuit, 0.298 seconds sooner than his British teammate.
Australian Oscar Piastri of McLaren was third quickest, 0.354 seconds off the tempo, with Charles Leclerc fourth for Ferrari.
